Some years ago, i had unidentifiable problem with my PC (i bought a pre-built, a silly young padawan me), so i sent it to a company i bought it from (biggest electronic company in my country). They had a legal obligation to return it within a month, and surely enough, they returned it on the 30th day, with explanation that ''everything is alright, there is no problem'' (repairman probably got a hold on that PC on 29th day in the evening). Week later my dad takes it to a local eletronics shop owned by some 60 year old guy. He meddled in my PC for 10 minutes and concluded that PSU is barely working. He built in a new one, we payed a small fee on top of the prise of PSU, and after that my PC was working for years. Fuck big companies. Always go to local businesses.

Apple does this since ages. One time they purposely put water on the moisture detector themselves and fucking accused the owner of damaging the laptop himself and asked him almost $1000 for a new mother board. That company is one big fucking scam I swear. The products themselves are okay but the marketing department and bureaucracy deserves to die in hell. Apple and Disney are the worst and companies on earth I swear. The level of mocking their own clientele is beyond shaming and despicable.

Apple is overpriced in every aspect. But, nothing can be fixed for $0 unless you do it yourself. Last week I made some work for a customer that spent around $40K with me. It took me around 2 hours and I didn't charged him because he's a good customer. But that doesn't mean the work is worth $0.

Replace Apple with any random pc brand of equal size. (Packard Bell, Hewlett Packard, Compaq, Dell, etc) and it’s still a valid statement. But I must admit, Apple tops the list. Mostly because of the miniaturization, everything is on a single board, so most problems, unless repairable, are fixed by replacing the entire logic board. I really like the OS, but I really dislike the “need for everything to be thinner” that apple has going for them.

I sold my old iPhone to my friend. His sound was broken and the tech support needed to change the complete bottom of the phone to fix that. He told them he‘d buy it from me, they asked if I still have the recipe to prove it. I did, so they gave him a 600€ repair for free

Thats not ridiculous, thats Apple's business policy. And apparently it is working very well, they are making billions of dollars on their customers. Apple is not the idiot in this equation.

My bro had a problem charging his iPhone. Sometimes it just didn’t charge. Went to apple service. They said they can fix this for 120 $. He didn’t have the money so he came home. Later same evening I got pissed of his complains. Took a toothpick and rolled out a huge pile of dust out of the charging hole. Works fine.
